21세기 북스의 <알 카포네의 수상한 빨래방>의 영어원서입니다 2005년 뉴베리상 수상작이고요... 자폐증을 앓는 누나 나탈리의 치료를 위해서 12살 소년 무스의 가족은 샌프란시스코로 이사를 가게되는데 아빠는 악명 높은 알캐터로즈 감옥에서 일하게 되고 그곳의 두목? 알 카포네와 12살 무스는 괴롭힘도 당하지만 우정을 쌓아간다는 얘기라네요.. 저는 안읽어봐서 자세한 내용은 모르겠지만 아이는 재미있게 읽었다네요
12살 난 Moose에게는 자폐증을 앓고 있는 누나가 있습니다. Moose의 가족은 누나 Natalie의 교육을 위해 샌프란시스코로 이사를 가게 되고, 그 곳에서 Moose의 아빠는 악명 높은 앨커트로즈 감옥의 전기 기사 겸 경비로 일을 하게 됩니다. Moose는 방과 후면 집으로 곧장 달려가 누나 Natalie를 돌보며, 새로운 곳에서의 생활에 적응을 해야 하는데, 교도소장의 딸 Piper가 나타납니다. Piper는 자꾸만 Moose를 괴롭히는데, 우리의 Moose는 어떻게 앨커트로즈의 생활에 적응할 수 있을까요?
